London, ON – London Hydro employees have raised over $4,400 for the Salvation Army’s Christmas Hamper Program to help purchase toys for local families.

“The Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Program has always been important to London Hydro employees and this year is no different,” said Vinay Sharma, CEO. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees, who within 24 hours of starting our fundraising campaign, had already donated almost $2,000.”

With calls to the public for donations from the Salvation Army, London Hydro employees were happy to step up and help families within our community. This donation comes shortly after two donations were made to other local charities by London Hydro employees in late October.

“We recognize the difficulties many families are facing during this pandemic and hope this donation will provide families some comfort this holiday season,” says Vinay Sharma. These funds will allow Salvation Army employees to focus on purchasing toys for specific age groups that may still be in need and ensure that no child goes without this holiday.
