London, ON – October 22, 2020 - The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) recently introduced new electricity prices that allow residential and small business customers to choose between Time-of-Use (TOU) or Tiered price plans.

To help customers make the best choice for their household, London Hydro has launched a price plan comparison tool in MyLondonHydro that lets customers see the cost difference between the two options. This feature provides a personalized comparison between TOU and Tiered prices based on customers’ historical usage, allowing them to easily compare and switch between the two plans without entering any numbers themselves.

Customers may benefit from one plan over the other depending on how much electricity they use and when they use it. With TOU, the price you pay depends on when you use electricity. With Tiered prices, you can use a certain amount of electricity each month at a lower price and once that limit is exceeded, a higher price applies. London Hydro encourages all customers to visit londonhydro.com to see which price plan works best for them.

New TOU and Tiered prices will start taking effect as of November. 1, 2020. If customers want to continue paying TOU prices, no action is required.
